Paulo Castilho - Director of photography
Born in Oporto in the year of 1981, Paulo Castilho studied Audiovisual Communication Techniques at Instituto Politécnico do Porto. He counts on his resume with a specialization on Lighting taken on RTP - the portuguese public television channel - and an intensive course in Direction of Photography.
The set of skills Paulo put together along the years got him to work with significant names of the audiovisual panorama like António Ferreira, Manoel de Oliveira, Aki Kaurismaki, Victor Erice, Edgar Pêra, Peter Greenaway and others.
He is also responsible for the Direction of the short movie "O Reino", produced by Riot Films.
Júlio Alves - Art director/Special Effects
Born in Oporto in the year of 1981, Júlio Alves studied Set and Props Design at Academia Contemporânea do Espetáculo of Oporto. He continued is further studies at the University of the Arts, on the London College of Fashion where he graduated in Technical Effects for the Performing Arts.
Júlio has worked in several different fields that go from Theater to Film production through Opera. He has collaborated with companies like Dream Factory, Artisan, Teatro de Ferro, Fundação de Serralves amongst others. The set of skills he gathered working with names like the scenographer Colin Arthur and directors like Rodrigo Areias, Artur Serra Araújo, Aki Kaurismaki, Peter Greenaway, Jean Vincent Puzos and others, made him a reference in his field of action.
He participated in the Summer Exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts in London and has been a guest tutor in several portuguese universities.
